Equipment Requirements
In every class, we use a chair to support safety, stability, and comfort. The chair provides postural support, assists with stretching, and offers a place for rest and relaxation.
We recommend using a straight-backed, armless chair with a firm, non-contoured seat. A steel-frame chair is preferred for stability.
As an instructor, you are responsible for ensuring that the exercise space remains clear and safe. You may need to move equipment out of the way to reduce the risk of tripping or obstruction.
Participants may also choose to exercise using supportive devices such as wheelchairs or rollators. When using these devices, you ensure that:
- Wheels are locked
- The device is stable and secure
- The surrounding space is free from hazards
Supportive devices should enhance safety and confidence, not create additional risk.
The following are examples of equipment that participants may use during class.
