What is SilverSneakers Yoga?

The SilverSneakers Yoga format is an accessible and inclusive class designed for every body. Through light- to moderate-intensity rhythmic and static movement sequences, paired with purposeful breathing exercises, participants experience a variety of benefits, including improved flexibility, endurance, balance, and reduced stress.

SilverSneakers Yoga blends elements from three traditional yoga styles.

  • Vinyasa combines poses into a flowing series that combines movement with breath and creates warmth and energy within the body.
  • Viniyoga adapts poses to meet an individual’s needs.
  • Iyengar focuses on precise alignment, technique and the use of equipment to make poses accessible for all participants.

Combining these yoga styles reduces barriers to entry for both instructors and participants, making a SilverSneakers Yoga class welcoming, achievable, and engaging.
