Encourage members to following the guidelines below to prepare for a Splash class:

Wear eye protection after recent eye surgery.

To minimize sun damage use sunscreen and wear a hat and sunglasses when training in outdoor pool environments.

Get the most from the workout by wearing appropriate swimwear. When in colder pool environments, a swim vest or jacket may be worn for additional warmth.

Aquatic footwear is recommended and will protect participants from injury caused by rough or slippery pool bottoms. Individuals with diabetes, as well as those who suffer from neuropathy from any cause, should wear shoes to protect feet from injury. Flip flops, socks or sandals are not appropriate footwear in the pool and may cause injury.

It is not recommended that participants wear hearing aids in the pool.

A swim cap may cause one to overheat as it impedes the body’s ability to dissipate heat through the head. A shower cap may be suitable to protect hair.
