Course introduction
Thank you for registering for the SilverSneakers Nutrition as We Age – Member Engagement Workshop instructor training. Making nutritious food choices plays a vital role in aging optimally for a vibrant and active old adult lifestyle. This course will provide you with the knowledge and tools to deliver quality nutrition information to members, helping them better understand the importance of diet on their overall health.
As with all Member Engagement Workshops, SilverSneakers Nutrition as We Age is meant for instructors to present to members outside of their regularly scheduled fitness classes for additional engagement. Please note that you will need to print materials.
Course learning objectives
Upon completion of this course, you will be able to:
- Understand your scope of practice and the types of guidance that you can provide to workshop participants about nutrition and healthy eating.
- Facilitate class discussions about overcoming barriers and setting incremental goals to inspire workshop participants to improve their nutrition.
- Identify ways that workshop participants can reduce their risk of illness and disease with optimal nutrition choices.
- Identify how to use materials to deliver an engaging workshop experience.

All content, including videos and documents, is required. After reviewing the course material, you must successfully complete the final assessment.
Step Three: Download your course completion certificate
After completing this course, you can download your continuing education certificate from your profile. Keep your profile up to date and complete all required continuing education.
