Course Introduction
Hip osteoarthritis and hip replacements are conditions that require thoughtful class preparation. This course will build on the Foundations training by providing a more in-depth understanding of the healthy hip, hip osteoarthritis, and hip joint replacements. This course is designed to equip you with tools to build safe and effective class choreography. Examples of appropriate exercises for a group setting to improve hip mobility and stability along with progression and regression variations will be provided.
Course Learning Objectives
By completing this course, you will be able to:
- Define hip osteoarthritis and exercise challenges.
- Identify three common movement contraindications for hip replacement surgery.
- List and explain main joint actions of the hip.
- Create safe and effective exercises to strengthen the hip joint.
