Self-assessment is a valuable tool in growing your instructor teaching skills. Record yourself teaching upper-body combination 1 and lower body combination 1. Each combination should take about 3 minutes, for a total of 6 minutes of work.
Print out the self-assessment tool. Read the criteria so you are familiar with the scoring points. Watch the video of your 6-minute presentation and score yourself in each of the areas. Note both strengths and areas for improvement.
Another option is to ask your group fitness director or a respected group fitness instructor to observe your video and provide a score and feedback.
Note the date of your self-assessment. Schedule a follow-up appointment with yourself in 30 days. Record your presentation of upper body combination 1 and lower body combination 1 and note your improvements.
