The SilverSneakers Brain Health for Group Exercise training provides an interactive learning experience that will allow you to confidently and effectively incorporate strategies to preserve and enhance cognitive health for your SilverSneakers class participants. As an instructor, you will gain an understanding of the importance of maintaining a healthy brain, and the benefits of exercise and social engagement which may help reduce some risk to cognitive decline. This course will include physical and cognitive drills, so that instructors can optimize the cognitive function of participants in their existing SilverSneakers classes and beyond.
Course Learning Objectives
Upon completion of required course work, instructors will be able to:
Define cognitive health and cognitive aging.
Identify the SilverSneakers Pillars of Health that optimize brain function in everyday life.
Identify the risks that affect brain health and the protective interventions that help maintain it.
Define the benefits of exercise and social engagement in relation to brain health.
Implement physical and cognitive exercises and drills designed to enhance brain health into group exercise classes.

Step Two: Complete the assessment
All content, including videos and quizzes, is required. After reviewing the course material, you must successfully complete the final assessment.
Step Three: Download your course completion certificate
After completing the course, you can download your continuing education certificate from your profile at instructor.tivityhealth.com. Make certain to keep your instructor profile up-to-date and to complete all required continuing education.
