Course Introduction

The SilverSneakers® Muscular Power article is designed to introduce instructors to the concept of muscular power training for older adults. This article also provides instructors with power training tips and exercises. Upon completion, you will be awarded one continuing education credit toward the renewal of SilverSneakers Foundations.

  1. Identify the difference between muscular strength and muscular power.
  2. Indicate the type of exercises that work best for muscular power training.
  3. Apply the muscular power exercise guidelines for a safe and effective SilverSneakers class.
